One Picture: PEI’s First Discovery Day
On Friday, May 11, the Princeton Environmental Institute (PEI) hosted the first Discovery Day, a poster session celebrating undergraduate senior-thesis research on a variety of environmental issues, in the Carl Fields Center, Room 104. PEI sponsors several competitive senior thesis funds to which undergraduates may apply for support of travel, research and supplies for field research on an environmental topic in the U.S. and abroad. Discovery Day 2012 was a culminating event for over 55 students from 14 different departments showcasing their work supported by 33 faculty advisors. Discovery Day is an opportunity for students to display and discuss their senior thesis research methodologies and results, to exchange perspectives, and to consider practical, achievable solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.
