Workshop: “Amazonian Poetics | Poéticas Amazônicas”

Princeton’s Brazil LAB and the National Museum of Brazil at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro will present the workshop “Amazonian Poetics | Poéticas Amazônicas” from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Louis A. Simpson International Building, Room 144. A list of speakers and complete program are available online. The workshop is related to the Nov. 7 discussion, “The Poetics of an Amazonian World: Flutes, Spells, Necklaces, and Manioc,” and part of the Fall 2019 Brazil LAB Colloquium.

This event is open to the public — it will be conducted in Portuguese. The workshop is cosponsored by the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS), the Social Anthropology Program at the National Museum of Brazil, the Princeton Environmental Institute (PEI), the Program in Latin American Studies, the Humanities Council, the University Center for Human Values, the Department of Anthropology, and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
