“Reimagining India: Cities in the Post-COVID World”

Anu Ramaswami, the Sanjay Swani ’87 Professor of India Studies, professor of civil and environmental engineering and the Princeton Environmental Institute, will present “Reimagining India: Cities in the Post-COVID World,” a discussion of sustainable urban development in India, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The talk is organized by the Princeton Club of India and Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Ramaswami, who is director of the M.S. Chadha Center for Global India at Princeton, will examine the potential long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Indian cities; how the pandemic could change the pace and modes of urbanization in India; and the technologies, policies, and sustainable practices needed to help Indian cities grow faster and be more resilient.
