“MegaTrends and The Big Pivot: Innovation and Profit in a Hotter, Scarcer, More Open and Connected World”

Andrew Winston

Author Andrew Winston ’91, a globally recognized speaker and business-strategy expert, will present, “MegaTrends and The Big Pivot: Innovation and Profit in a Hotter, Scarcer, More Open and Connected World,” for the Princeton Environmental Forum keynote lunch address at noon Friday, Oct. 25, at Alexander Hall.

** This event is FULL. Video will be posted to the PEI website after the Forum. **

Winston will discuss the simple but profound shift — the Big Pivot — that disruptive companies are making to navigate a world where critical mega-trends are disrupting business as usual: a changing climate; dramatically cheaper clean technologies; global water and resource constraints; rising demands from Millennials and Gen Z; and exciting new technologies that are driving radical transparency.

Winston will draw on his work with Apple, Coca-Cola, Ford, Tesla, Uber, and other major companies to explain how these challenges offer opportunities, including multi-trillion-dollar markets in energy, buildings, transportation, consumer products and finance. He also will ask audience members to think about the true purpose of their business and their jobs, to ask deeply heretical questions, and to connect in new ways with customers, employees and major institutional investors who are demanding big changes.
