Journalist Elizabeth Kolbert to speak at Princeton Feb. 21

The Princeton Environmental Institute (PEI) will host, "The Sixth Extinction: Humanity and the Loss of Nature," a conversation with journalist Elizabeth Kolbert at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in
McCosh Hall, Room 50.

Kolbert — author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, “The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History” — will discuss the human-driven loss of species with Princeton’s Stephen Pacala, the Frederick D. Petrie Professor in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and past director of PEI, and the future of a society without wild animals, plants and places. Kolbert, who writes for The New Yorker and is a visiting fellow at Williams College in Massachusetts, is speaking as part of the PEI Taplin Environmental Lecture Series.
