CFI Seminar: “‘Rapid Switch’ at Princeton: Bringing Political Science and Psychology to Bear on Research on Decarbonization”

Elke U. Weber, Gerhard R. Andlinger Professor in Energy and the Environment, Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs, and Robert Keohane, Professor of Public and International Affairs, Emeritus, will present “‘Rapid Switch’ at Princeton: Bringing Political Science and Psychology to Bear on Research on Decarbonization” at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in Robertson Hall, Room 002.

Keohane, Weber and their team will touch upon how social scientists can contribute to “Rapid Switch,” a five-year effort at Princeton that will examine pathways and obstacles to the decarbonization of energy systems, especially, at first, in India and the United States. Their early-stage research design for the social sciences emphasizes original field-based research into preferences and social dynamics, spanning levels of analysis from the individual to community groups and political units.

This event is the third in the Fall 2019 CFI Seminar Series, which is free and open to the public. Additional speakers and dates in this series are:

Sept. 25

Making Catastrophe Insurance Decisions When the Science Is Uncertain
Richard Bradley, Laurance S. Rockefeller Visiting Faculty Fellow, UCHV
