“Amazonia Undercover: A Film on the Threats Faced by the Forest and Its Peoples”

The Princeton Brazil LAB will host a live discussion of the documentary film “Amazonia Undercover” by Brazilian filmmaker Estevão Ciavatta. Register here to stream the film before the colloquium and watch a trailer on YouTube.

Ciavatta will talk about his film with Rob Nixon, Thomas A. and Currie C. Barron Family Professor in Humanities and the Environment and professor of English and the High Meadows Environmental Institute; Ilona Szabó, co-founder and executive director of Instituto Igarapé; and environmentalist Beto Veríssimo, senior researcher and co-founder of Amazon Institute of People and Environment (Imazon) and Amazônia 2030.

This event is open to the public and will be live-streamed on the Brazil LAB’s YouTube channel. Organized in partnership with HMEI, the Igarapé Institute, and the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology (PPGAS) of the Museu Nacional. Co-sponsored by the Program in Latin American Studies, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, and the Department of Anthropology.
