Small Clean Fusion Reactors
Our research aimed to develop a compact fusion reactor that produces less contamination in the experiments happening in the Princeton Field Reversed Configurations (PFRC) program. I primarily ran simulations of single ion trajectories inside the PFRC magnetic field and observed the heating and confinement of the particles when started with different initial conditions. I then sought to explain the observed behaviors using more analytical models.
