Brazil LAB Film Series: "Amazonia Inc., A Series by Estevão Ciavatta"

The Brazil LAB Film Series will screen "Amazonia Inc." at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Robertson Hall, Bowl 001. The film – which includes English subtitles – depicts how forest peoples of the Amazon are having to organize themselves and form legal entities to confront the big corporations that, with the support of governments, are invading their territories.

A discussion with Beto Veríssimo, a senior researcher at the Brazilian Amazon-based NGO Imazon, will follow, moderated by Fazal Sheikh, the 2018 PEI Barron Visiting Professor in the Environment and the Humanities, and Princeton Professor of English Eduardo Cadava.
